SL-Institute is committed to ongoing compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation of April 27, 2016. With this regulation SL-Institute has strengthened its personal data protection policy to ensure that our users' data is collected and used in a transparent, confidential and secure manner.
Our Privacy Policy describes how SL-Institute treats the personal data of visitors and users (hereinafter referred to as "Users") when browsing our website www.sl-Institute.com (hereinafter referred to as the "Site"). The Personal Data Protection Policy is an integral part of the General Terms and Conditions of Use of the Site.
SL-Institute pays constant attention to our Users' data. We may therefore modify, supplement or update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We may also make the necessary changes to comply with changes in current legislation and regulations. Wherever possible, we will notify you of any significant changes. However, we encourage you to regularly consult the latest version, which is available on our Site.
What personal data is collected and for what purposes?
We collect personal data that you transmit to us and data that we collect from you.
We use this personal data to improve your user experience and personalize our services.
When you use our platform and/or register, we collect and process personal data about you, such as your first and last names.
We will also ask you to provide us with your e-mail address so that we can use this information to create an account, send you information and notification e-mails, and send you our newsletter.
We also collect your username, avatar, postal address, gender, telephone number, IP address, and certain information available on your social networks. We may also ask you to send us a mini-biography or biography. A photo is also required.
SL-Institute uses Analytics Smart Learning methods to analyze courses taken, exercises, chapters completed, courses and projects. We use this data for analysis and display purposes. This data is used for a variety of purposes, including collecting your user experience and tracking your progress, setting up follow-up and statistics based on your motivation.
The data collected using Analytics Smart Learning methods will also be used to analyze the Student Success service (progress, tracking, statistics), to offer you relevant and adapted courses and pathways.
When you register on the platform, you can register using Facebook or your Google account. If you connect to our services using the social networking features made available to you, in particular Facebook, SL-Institute will have access to certain data (in particular your Facebook public profile, date of birth and email address) from your account on said social network in accordance with the general terms of use of the social network concerned. We may also collect some of your personal data when you interact with features of these social networks, such as "Like" features.
At the end of your degree course, for statistical purposes, we will ask you to fill in a questionnaire requesting some of your data, in particular your job title, employer and salary.
We can use a customer satisfaction measurement tool (Net Promoter Score) for satisfaction surveys. This tool will ask you to write a review of the training you have taken with SL-Institute.

Is your data shared with third parties?
We provide a legal framework for transfers through contractual commitments with our subcontractors, to ensure a high level of security for you.
The personal data collected from you on our platform is intended for SL-Institute's own use and may be passed on to subcontracting companies that SL-Institute may use to provide its services.
SL-Institute does not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes under any circumstances.
We also work closely with third-party companies that may have access to your personal data, in particular :
- When you expressly request it (for example, when you use the authentication methods provided by social networks allowing you to integrate information from your account on their own platform into your SL-Institute profile);

If SL-Institute or all or part of its assets are acquired by a third party, the data in our possession will, where appropriate, be transferred to the new owner.
We may aggregate data about you that we receive or send to our business partners, including all or part of your personal data and information collected through cookies. This aggregated information will only be used for the purposes described above.
On request, we can provide you with a list of the countries in which we store your data and those in which it is occasionally transferred.
We store your data in the European Union, but we also transfer it outside the European Union to the United States. How are your personal data protected?
We take all necessary steps to ensure that your data is protected. We also ask you to keep your data confidential.
SL-Institute applies generally recognized technological and organizational security measures to ensure that the personal data collected is not lost, misappropriated, consulted, modified or disclosed by unauthorized third parties, unless the communication of such data is required by the regulations in force, in particular at the request of a judicial authority, the police, the gendarmerie or any other authority authorized by law.
The security of personal data also depends on Users. Users who are members of SL-Institute undertake to keep their login and password confidential. Members also undertake not to share their account and to declare to SL-Institute any unauthorized use of said account as soon as they become aware of it.
How long will SL-Institute users' personal data be kept?
Your data is kept for a limited period of time to ensure optimum security.
Personal data provided by SL-Institute Users will be deleted after a certain period and depending on the data processed.
To enable members to recover their account if they forget their password after a prolonged period without logging on to the Site, your e-mail address is kept for security purposes. It is nevertheless possible to delete it by modifying your profile information in the "My account" section of the Site.
We keep your data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, in accordance with legal requirements, and in particular :
- Login and profile data :
- 5 years after your last use of our platform, if you have not closed your account;
- If your account has been suspended or blocked, we will keep your data for a period of 2 years from the date of suspension to prevent you from circumventing the rules in force on our platform.
- Billing and contract data: 10 years
- Visitor and commercial prospecting data: 3 years
- Data relating to the validation of projects, certificates and diplomas: 50 years
Are you a minor?
We attach great importance to the safety of minors, which is why we do not collect personal data from minors under the age of 15.
As our aim is to make education accessible to all, minors may access the Site to search for information.
Our platform makes no provision for the registration, collection or storage of information relating to any person under the age of 15.

When you gave your consent as a minor, your personal data was collected.
You can exercise your right to oblivion if you no longer wish your data to be stored in our databases.
What happens if I use SL-Institute services in connection with social networks?
We are not responsible for the use of data by social networks. You can set the parameters on their sites.
When you use social networks and SL-Institute services or applications in connection with social networks, this may result in the collection and exchange of certain data between the social networks and SL-Institute.
We are not responsible for the use of your data by social networks on their own behalf. You can set and control access and confidentiality directly on the social networks.
